AALTO Hyperbaric Oxygen Healing

Proud to be part of supporting a very new method for healing trauma and brain injuries.

Brownco was contracted to build a 1,500 Liquid Oxygen tank foundation and louvered screen wall enclosure on top of an existing parking structure at a hospital in Century City.

What made this project unique was that Brownco had to set the false work and forms to support the foundation from a room below because the design consisted of infilling the cells of a waffle cone parking structure deck to create the foundation. We then core drilled through the deck into each individual cell and poured the concrete from the top to infill the cells and create the foundation.

In addition to the foundation, Brownco also installed a louvered screen enclosure to conceal the tank for both aesthetic and safety purposes. The screen wall structure consisted of steel columns and beams, concrete curbs, custom fabricated louvers and bollards that were installed in order to protect the tank from vehicular impact.

The execution of this project included coordinating with the building owner, OSHPD, and approval from the LA Fire and the LA Building Departments.

The bulk oxygen provided the oxygen needed to run a Hyperbaric Oxygen Healing Facility for trauma patients at the hospital. This was an innovative and new approach for treating trauma and brain injuries in patients at this facility.

It was an incredible experience to be a part of the development and installation of a cutting-edge and potentially life-saving technology within the healthcare sector.
