3,500 cubic yards of concrete into a building with over 135 roof columns presented logistical challenges.

Brownco was contracted to replace 125,000 SF of 8” concrete slab in this existing commercial warehouse. Brownco’s scope also included structural additions and improvements.

72 new column spread footings were installed to carry new roof glulams and 550 LF of load bearing wall footing was underpinned and poured in a stitched pattern so the roof structure would not be compromised.

Soil remediation involved removing 2,300 tons of native subgrade, scarifying, and recompacting.

Placing over 3,500 cubic yards of concrete in an existing building with over 135 roof columns presented challenges logistically. Brownco used a slip dowel system and placed the slab over the course of (7) early morning concrete pours, installing nearly 200,000 LBS of steel between placements.

This allowed the highest level of quality control while omitting the need for any pumping of concrete into the building.
